How to Make Soothing Lavender-Scented Honey Soap
Making soap is something I’ve always wanted to do. I used to devour adventure books when I was younger, and all the protagonists were these kids who just made what they needed. It was insane. They needed shelter? They built tools and then they build a whole tree house-mansion. They needed soap? They made it. That sort of independence was really appealing to me. I’m not always the type of person who embraces the vulnerability of asking for help. Plus, saving money is always the best option!
Learning how to make my own soap was a great way to appease that kid in me who still loves adventure books. It was actually a very calming, methodical process. I like that I can be the one who decides what color, smell, and shape my soap is. For anyone who has a sensitive nose, this is your chance to create your ideal soap.
I picked honey soap because it’s one of my favorites from Lush. I may not be able to use the high-grade ingredients they use, but I like my soap just as much. And it’s a fraction of the price. Many recipes also allow you to make soap in bulk so you’ll have plenty to share with your friends, or give as gifts. For me, I pretty much pawned them off on friends who’ve been wanting to treat themselves to a sort of spa day at home.
